To Homeschool or Not To Homeschool? That Is The Question!

Honestly I am not sure where to start with homeschooling. I have been doing some reseach and talking to other mom's some who already homeschool their children, some who send their children to school and some who are thinking of diving into homeschooling like myself. Since I was laid off in April and we had to pull our kids from their daycare program since we only had one income and could no longer afford it. I didn't want my kids to stop learning just because we couldn't afford to send them to daycare anymore. I took it upon myself since being home with them to make learning fun. I have been taking them to the library for different events they had going on. Taking them on mini trips during the day. Working sight words with our oldest, addition and subtraction. Working on colors, shapes and numbers with our middle, and our youngest is only a few months old but we read to her a lot and showing her colors, numbers, the alphabet and shapes. I have been earnestly praying about homeschooling our kids and looking into different resources. Our oldest just turned 4 years old and because I've been doing all these things with them over these past few months my oldest now keeps asking me everyday "what are we learning, today mommy?" It warms my heart to know that she wants me to teach her and she loves it.

I want us as their parents to be the main influence in our children's lives and what better way to do that by teaching them ourselves. I never once thought I'd be stay at home mom. The more a prayed about looking for a job the more God was showing me I need to be home with my children. I am continuing to believe God will provide our needs as we start this new journey. So here I am taking a dive into the unknown of homeschooling. With God's guidance, lots of prayer it will be done. Taking it one day at a time and learning right along with them.
