I Am Not In Control, God Is!

We took our babies to a small circus that was in town over the summer, there was an act that was spinning plates. The act start on the grpund and a few minutes into they were on top of a tight rope sitting on a chair balancing these plates that were spinning so fast. I watched in amazement but also thought what if one slight move and they crashed all to the ground. There’s that ugly fear again, that if we don’t keep all the plates spinning, they might just crash to the ground. And, oh, the mess that would make. Secretly we’re all afraid that if we don’t keep doing what we’ve always done, our life will fall apart. We all think this is true. In our better, brighter moments, we see that of course this is not the case. We see that we are not the sum of our spinning plates. We see that we desperately need to rest in the safety of his love.

Learning not to be afraid of dropping a few plates in order to get closer to God and your family. It is truly important to relinquish control in all areas of your life not just some areas. It's as if you are saying God I can handle this, this and this but this other stuff over here is too much for me to do on my own so you got me here right thanks. God is not a per-diem God he is Lord of all. Yes it is easier said than done but we have remember God works everything out for our good. When we think we are balancing everything just fine in our strength he is the one steadying our hand to keep it going in motion and he is even keeping the plate going as well. I am learning how to rest and to let go and let God truly reign over my life and my family's life!!!
